There is the question as to what construes a ‘resort’:
Does it have to have base area lodging? If yes, that excludes some pretty cool local areas that might have awesome skiing. If no, that includes some pretty awefull areas like Hyland. Park, MN.
Is there a minimum size? If so, does only groomed count? (.. sorry La Grave) if no, does an indoor slope count?
And what counts as ‘having skied’? I once bought a ticket, rode the lift up, bumped down grass clumps all the way to the base and sold my ticket to someone in the parking lot.
Then there is the fact, that resorts I went to a long time ago, when I was was only skiing easy groomers, would feel completely different if I went there now.
Anyway, here is my list:
Been there:
Austria:
Stubai Glacier in pre-season, first time on snow, snowboard
Kitzsteinhorn-Kaprun, mid season, but glacier only due to horribly warm weather, only 1 day.
France:
St Martin Belleville ( Trois Vallees) snowboarding
Les Deux Alps. Snowboarding. Drought conditions, but very cold. Crazy busy on the WROD, Lift tickets were divided into morning and afternoon users to ease congestion
Colorado:
Copper, skiing, beginner level
Steamboat, skiing low intermediate skiing
Winter Park, skiing, intermediate-advanced
MN
Lutsen, skiing.
I’ll skip the small hills in MN, WI and MI
Bucket List:
Steamboat and Copper, with better skills and skis, planned this winter
Mt Bohemia, MI, hopefully finally this winter
Mt. Bacheror, OR maybe this spring
Grand Targhee, WY
Alta/Snowbird, UT
Cat skiing interior BC
Alps, resort to be determined. This time with good conditions, and better skills.
