Most commonly feels like 10am doctor's appointment, they demand you show up at 9:45 for paperwork, then you sit and wait... and wait. They show up at 10:15.

If your (generic) event hasn't built transition time into the schedule, that's just poor planning don't blame everyone else for your mistakes. Make the appointment for the time you expect people to actually show up.
My kid's band director had the "if you're early you're on time, if you're on time you're late" mindset. I get it but if you want to start at 9am make on time 8:50, not 9 and expect a bunch of high school kids to show up early.

Likewise, if I have a 10am doctor appointment don't tell me to show up for paperwork at 9:45. Make my appointment for 9:45. You know I won't get in at 10 anyway!
There are some places that will actually reimburse you some advertised fee they are late when late. Question is, were they late because patients with appointments before you showed up late, or were they late because they took walk ins who didn't have appointments an that pushed them behind schedule. It matters IMHO..

I can’t believe it’s not England!

Lol a specialist I see is late because the practice schedules her every 20 minutes but she likes to spend at least 45 minutes with every patient. I once showed up for an afternoon appointment and they told me to go for a walk and they'd call me in an hour and a half-two hours. She's very good at what she does, though. Best to call 9 months out and grab the first appointment of the day.

Probably a result of the saccurine era and red dye#2 scares.. But, I just can't drink artificial sweetener and not feel like I'm ingesting some toxic chemical regardless of how good it might seem to taste. I'm overdue for a glucose test and cholesterol screening. If the doc says no mas, I'll have to learn to like it or just stick with unsweet tea.. which I actually already LOVE.

Overrated-Only using urgent care and regular specialists and not going see a PCP hardly ever (every 10 years) even though it's free

Underrated-Deciding I owe it to my family to take a deeper dive in to my overall health annually/more often.
