The Peak/Bode ski/saga is often compared to the similar Hirscher/Augment/VanDeer ski/saga.
Both involve a top all time racer getting involved with designing skis and owning their own ski company(ies).
Lots of us have been rooting for both of them, and have been interested in the resulting skis.
Before Hirscher, Augment had risen to the top of the consumer skis available, but then temporarily pulled out
of the North American market, for the most part, with the change of ownership.
This year Augment/VanDeer/Red bull re-entered the North American market by giving Gorsuch exclusive
North American marketing rights (multiple shops, multiple states, but centered in Vail/Avon, with two shops
and a warehouse). They demoed the skis there in Vail, and sold off most of the demo skis in early April,
to make room for next year's models.
It seems likely that Travis Ganong will become the North American rep for Van Deer by Red Bull - at least
last time I heard, when he was apparently finalizing the arrangement. He was around Gorsuch Vail a lot this year,
I was told - a great experience for my friend who works there.
Travis Ganong has been a top U.S. speed racer, who this year retired from the FIS World Cup circuit,
after being the number one male racer or close for the U.S. team for years.
(I forgot about this website, and posted this first over in a Peak ski thread.)
