Have you never seen someone walking down the street in a Red Sox sweatshirt? Have you never seen a cyclist wearing a Team Sky jersey? People want to be associated with their heros.

Sky jerseys are getting rare but Bora, Jumbo etc-a lot.
One of the coolest colourways of Trek is the red/blue with the yellow Segafredo sign.
I mentioned above Mapei-this is still one of the coolest paint schemes for Colnago steel bikes.

The bold -really??
Yes... one of those flags existed before the other, and yet the other still chose to be almost identical. That's "intentionally not unique". It doesn't mean there are no differences, just that they don't meet the same standards companies have when choosing branding.

Companies do a lot of research, and try to be unique. And then most countries have laws to enforce that for the companies.

The fact that flags are not very unique does not mean brands are in a similar boat/situation. (Though I'm sure there are probably some exceptions out there somewhere, and I know there have been lawsuits when companies clash over similarity.)

If you look closely, they are not the same boots. There is a metal forward lean/flex adjuster on the back of the cuff on the Van Deer boot, which Lange boots don’t have. The toe dam on the Van Deer boot is different, as is the cuff aliment adjuster. As I said above, the Rossignol group has decided not to supply him with boots this season. https://www.oe24.at/sport/winterspo...ristoffersen-bangt-um-sein-material/573586761

Not sure if there was a picture already posted, but I found this one.
This is HK

Not shocking to see Gorsuch stocking them - not exactly a place where you shop for bargains.

Still: good to see them stateside.

What does the number series on the VDRBs signify?
"67-12-8-7-2"

Marcel Hirscher's accomplishments:

67 World Cup victories
12 World Cup seasons
8 World Cup Overall titles
7 World Championship titles
2 Olympic gold medals

The first race I saw HK on his I assumed he had a falling out with Rossi and blacked out his top sheets :).

The Peak/Bode ski/saga is often compared to the similar Hirscher/Augment/VanDeer ski/saga.
Both involve a top all time racer getting involved with designing skis and owning their own ski company(ies).
Lots of us have been rooting for both of them, and have been interested in the resulting skis.

Before Hirscher, Augment had risen to the top of the consumer skis available, but then temporarily pulled out
of the North American market, for the most part, with the change of ownership.

This year Augment/VanDeer/Red bull re-entered the North American market by giving Gorsuch exclusive
North American marketing rights (multiple shops, multiple states, but centered in Vail/Avon, with two shops
and a warehouse). They demoed the skis there in Vail, and sold off most of the demo skis in early April,
to make room for next year's models.

It seems likely that Travis Ganong will become the North American rep for Van Deer by Red Bull - at least
last time I heard, when he was apparently finalizing the arrangement. He was around Gorsuch Vail a lot this year,
I was told - a great experience for my friend who works there.

Travis Ganong has been a top U.S. speed racer, who this year retired from the FIS World Cup circuit,
after being the number one male racer or close for the U.S. team for years.

(I forgot about this website, and posted this first over in a Peak ski thread.)

250 pairs of skis in the US last year is hardly much of a presence outside this site. People here talked endlessly about Augment, then eventually the number came out.
There’s at least ten times as many Peaks, yet people still say they don’t see them.

An exclusive deal with Gorsuch just sounds bad imo. But if you have no product to move, but lots to talk about, it’s all good.

Why does that sound bad? I don't know anything but I assume it's a luxury ski at a luxury price point. Which also inherently means the ski will be made and sold in small quantities. This would also make an exclusive deal with Gorsuch perfectly logical and a good fit,

I would not call Van Deer a luxury brand. While their gear may be expensive, the focus appears to be high speed performance with the FIS race skis showing up first on their website. Even the 108 freeride ski has the word "race" several times in the description.

Gorsuch, on the other hand....
