Wait, so there was actually a car in the rocket as payload? That's pretty good. It was just the brief image that looked like a cartoon that was lame.

It's already been done, and with a cooler car and better tunes:

So the car is just on a trajectory to mars? And nothing encapsulating it??Are there rockets in the back? It will get out of earth orbit?

Weird. Where's the cheese wheel?

The cheese wheel https://www.space.com/10459-wheel-cheese-launched-space-private-spacecraft.html

IIRC The Tesla is in the nose cone and is riding to Mars Sun Earth Elliptical orbit on the main rocket. It was covered by fairings that detached after entering zero gravity.

The mannequin is wearing a real spacesuit. https://www.autoblog.com/2017/08/24/elon-musk-spacex-spacesuit/

I get a kick out of NASA being all serious about space travel while Musk is Monty Python-ing it. What an amazing time we live in now.

^^^ Such a cool movie from the high school days..

So, I certainly hope the Tesla is fully charged up so whoever finds it can actually drive it should they find a gravity friendly place to do so.
