Hi all,
Will stone grinding a die cut base help remove and smooth the edges/gaps between the diecut pieces of the base? Or will the base grind just lower the base level and the gaps remain in tact? Other than reducing the number of times I can base grind in the future, is base grinding brand new skis not recommended?
Just received a new pair of Faction skis in the mail and running my hands over the "Faction" letters of the base, the edges of the die cut pieces are pretty noticeable on one of the skis (the other is pretty negligible).
Leaving it as is, I'm sure the effects on performance will be negligible, but am concerned as I've seen cases of die cut pieces getting ripped out at the gaps from running over rocks.
