Oooh, are we calling Val Gardena by its German name (Groden) this year?

It is (also) official name of the place though
for sureIt is (also) official name of the place though
but the english ... speaking? written? media typically calls it Val Gardena
Around here it depends. In German speeking part of Europe it's Groden of course, in Italy it's Gardena, elsewhere, it's sometimes Groden sometimes Gardena, even by same people/media, but Gherdeina, which is third official name of that valley, is never used by anyone except locals speaking Ladin.

I know there is time between when that was shot and the race, but man, that is an ugly looking surface. I am not sure that speed on a nearly bare glacier is a great idea after watching that.

Don’t pick Lucas Braathen (but he has won in Soelden) as he just ended his career. Interested to hear more but he did seem to post s lot on social media that seemed far away from skiing. Best of luck.

Same manager as with Klaebo, who also didn't sign contract with Norwegian ski federation yet, and most likely won't be skiing WC races this year either (just that Klaebo is for rang 100 bigger star then Braathen). Norwegian ski federations seems to like play god and think they are untouchable and racers just need to agree to whatever NFS throws at them. Obviously Braathen had enough of this and said thank you and goodbye.

Braathen going from 29th to 1st in a Wengen slalom is one of my favorite WC moments of the past few years. I’ll miss his energy.
