It's been awhile since I've read Al's Blog, but this one seemed to pique my interest.
Single chairs in the earliest of days at Arapahoe Basin.

We have some of those at Sun Valley, too. In my first visit in 1969 (makes me feel old, I guess I am), at least one lift was still a single.

I love the single chair at Niseko because I know it’s consistently good snow at the top although not necessarily good visibility.


I finally made it to Warren, VT this summer to pay tribute to a friend lost in an avalanche 7 1/2 years ago. And I couldn’t help but drive to nearby Mad River Glen to see its famous single chair.
