Interesting. 1st generation? Buckles instead of a ratchet strap and two extra pivots on the strap.
Yes, the pair I skied were with the earlier buckles, same as these.

First you grow your hair out and get a perm. Then you manicure your porn star stash. Next you try not to wreck yourself on that disastrous looking contraption. Finally, you troll the singles lines at Sun Valley.I am trying to figure out exactly how these work - any ideas???

Had lunch with my buddy today and he gave me two pair of his Jet Stix from when he was a kid. They are in really nice shape.
There is probably also solid correlation between the advent of booster straps and ACL injuries, shaped skis too.Jet Stix look like they were designed to just tear your ACL right off.
It just occurred to me that these were likely the first de facto booster straps. I know the rear spoiler was the primary initiative, but the strap around the front acted as a booster strap as well.A friend just texted and said he would give these to me!
... I took a chance on this Toko waxer.
I have a Wax-O-Mat as well! The only problem the rubber cover on the drum is more worn in the center (as would be expected with the narrower skis of that era), I'd be totally stoked if I could get a replacement cover! And, yes, it does lay down a nice even coat of wax. I use this for summer storage...
If you are in fact referring to the TokoMat, the drum cover, at least mine, cannot be replaced...
