Just a little over an hour ago Kim posted this update on her wall. Makes me wonder if they're out of the woods (so to speak) yet.
The USFS Red Team arrived at Crystal today. They are currently removing brush and limbs around the cabins at the base of the Blvd. The wind shifted to NW, which they fear puts the cabins in danger. While they know these structures are indefensible, they are doing all they can to mitigate. They are also taking the same measures at the clubs. There will be a public meeting at the Greenwater Fire Station at 6pm tonight.

These aren't super close to the area, but their loss would be a shame and kind of a psychic blow. That said, any odd wind shift I'm sure could easily endanger the area infrastructure. The entire east side of Rainier Nat'l Park is closed because of the unpredictable/volatile conditions.

Its so surreal how things went from "everything on fire" to "Oh, pretty snow"
This is a burn area with fresh snow cover.
