Went through there a couple years ago after memorial weekend and it was so amazingly beautiful.

The snowpack was so dismal in January 2012 you could drive over to Yosemite Valley, road was still open mid-month. I heard earlier this spring that Sonora Pass, just to the north, had the deepest snowpack in NA this season. TAY if you wish.
