Starting this thread since the other one is apparently only supposed to be for the Blue Knob reunion :crash:

Was going to head out solo on Monday and had begun exploring options around a 3 hour drive from home. Well the boss declared last night that she wants to go, but that cuts my radius to two hours. So, it's now looking like a trip to M'nut on Sunday. Although I might try and get out again on Monday.

For those of you below the Mason Dixon Line, here's the latest Ski Forecast...

Forecast says 3"-6" but that might be double up at the top of Beech. I'll probably have to ditch my kids for a couple runs when we first get there. They're still in pizza more than french fries so they will have to stick to the green if there is more than a couple inches. Hoping that the traffic and resort has the green packed down or groomed down by the time we get there. I'll search for fresh along the sides while they ski.

@Older boot This has me more likely to show up at Beech than the sledding hill tomorrow

If only that white section would bend a bit more to the east...

The webcams for W'green and M'nut look like both made it through last night's rain in relatively good condition and both should have the blowers on tonight. Still optimistic that the boss won't get the dreaded work phone call tomorrow.

Was way colder on the mountain than expected today and pretty crowded. In spite of visible snow falling most of the trip up and day on the mountain conditions were windblown and noob.scraped hardpack. Still fun between the kids bellyaching. Waaaaa waaaa I can't get my boots on. Waaa waaa I can't carry my skis. Was waaaa my feet hurt. Waaa waaaay hands are cold.. On and on hahahahaha...

Was similar conditions to ^^^ at M'nut except not quite as cold. Got a few runs in then the boss got a call from work requiring her attention. We joked that it was an expensive recon as we left but now we know.

Snowing out there right now. Good test conditions for the new tires, glazed pavement with some blowing and drifting. WP_20160117_005.jpg

Wintergreen was a lot of fun yesterday. Short lift lines, firm snow but not icy on the blues. The only less than positive comment I'd have would be the parking options and poor marking. Minor gripe for a holiday weekend.

This doesn't include Saturday. We will get snow in central NC Saturday. NC mountains Saturday night/Sunday morning should be the best powder day we've seen in 2-3 years..

I'll be staying home for this one, but will probably get the ski blades out if we really do get some coverage here Saturday-Sunday.

We're waiting to see what happens with the wife's clinic. If they close Friday we may head out. We'll see...

Looks like this weekend actually isn't that much better than last weekend. Sugar and Beech only reported 3"-4" today with similar forecast for tomorrow instead of 2-3 feet they were bracing for. ALAS! If you're up there it should still be a lot of fun. Skiing usually is. Now it looks like New Jersey and South Eastern PA will get the most tomorrow.

Wintergreen is reporting 9 today and is expecting at least the same tomorrow. VDOT is apparently keeping the road up the mountain passable so the boss and I are going to try and make it up tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Happy Appy.. coverage was better here today but started out on sleet coated bulletproof cord. Softened up nice though. Chance is skiing parallel now on the easier stuff. Andrea is now fully a skier. Rides lifts and skis all greens and most blues. She can get her gear back on and going again after yard sales too. She really enjoyed full mountain freedom today!
