Ski racing/snowboard racing

How many of you race on skis and board? Czech racer Ester Ledecka stunned the racing world in 2018 when she won gold in Parallel Giant Slalom on a snowboard and Super G on skis at the Olympics. I've been racing on both for twenty years and now my three oldest grandsons do the same. What happens when two US team members (one on sks and other on a board) go head to head? At the NASTAR Nationals in Steamboat in 2016, a few of the current and former US Team pacesetters got to run against Justin Reiter (who conincidentally is Ester Ledecka's coach). He made two runs head to head against Jackie Wiles in slalom using stubbies. Granted Jackie is a downhill specialist but she had the advantage of a speedsuit, skating, and poling. Justin beat Jackie by 0.01. HIs times were faster than Jake FIala and AJ Kitt. Only Casey Puckett beat him.

I was at a seminar years ago with the Canadian Ski Coaches. They showed a video of Thomas Grande going through a GS course, with and without poles. He was faster without poles!

Maybe Tremblant should put Jasey Jay up against Erik sometime.
