I’m back at buying Skis on Craigslist, I have a problem.....

Purchased this pair of Line Prophet 90’s with Z12 bindings for $100.00. Pretty good shape on the top sheet, but the edges are pretty rusty. More rust then I’ve ever seen on a ski.

Does this look like a standard tune up will cure this problem, or should I try and get out of the Skis by selling back on Craigslist?

Oswaldr2, I took on the job of restoring a friends skis that they bought new in Slovinia, a very rusted pair of Elans. I posted the same question here and you should be able to find. Short story is I took an approximately 1 1/2 in dia. dowel, cut it off at about 8 inches long. Then wrapped emery paper, the black stuff around the dowel and worked the base over pretty good and it worked really well, liked better than a file as the rust came off easier and less edge lost. Took flat piece of wood and same system for edges, used lighter strokes so then I did the degree edges there wouldn't be any abrupt differences.

Was actually simple and worked really well.

I use 220 grit wet sandpaper wrapped over a diamond stone. Work the edges over until clean. Use lots of water. Now tune them up.

I decided to flip them on ebay for small profit. Back to hunting for my 90-99mm driver.
