Maybe reduce your heel DIN? That's what I did several years ago after a couple of minor calf tears.
That might be on the docket.

Have you been doing stretching/flexibility exercises for your calf? After one tear i would have thought that stretching would be on the agenda.

Yep, stretching everyday. It's not the big muscles, it's the plantaris or popletius.

The bindings are designed to prevent bones from breaking.

It cannot prevent soft tissue getting damaged.

Spoken like a lawyer. It stopped mine.
There is a difference between design criteria and secondary effects. Lower DIN means lower max forces all along the chain.
