When I would help shut down the wash plant at our gravel pit I'd go stand at the conveyor belt where the rocks were screened off and watch for petoskey stones. Petoskey are only found in the northern part of the lower peninsula of Michigan.

I had a 5 gallong bucket of them that I left behind when I moved. I'm kind of kicking myself, but then I guess they should stay where they belong.
I do have a few that were in my gardening stuff that I hold on to.
The smallest one is polished, the others are not.

Wife and I helped out tagging Sturgeon yesterday. First time volunteering.
I helped with retrieval and then measuring. My wife did the scanner to look for previous tags and get the new number on new tags.
