Deer Valley is showing 12-2

We arrive there 12-11
Wrong side of the Wasatch for early/late season.
Projected opening dates: :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
should be taken with a grain of salt.

They'll open when they have enough snow lol.
I don't consider having one WROD only as being open.
That is my attitude also, but some of that is due to location. I'm not going spend 4 hours round trip driving to Snow Summit until at least half of its 240 acres are open. The bar is considerably higher for a 5 hour one way trip to Mammoth including overnight lodging.

However, sometimes Mammoth can deliver in November!

Places this side of hell will open after 4-5 days of solid sub 30 degree temperatures.. Then likely close again for 2-4 weeks until the cool air returns with a stronger vengeance. They'll close on or before first weekend in April no matter how much snow is still there and skiable. Such is the circle of skis vs bikes and golf clubs..

Are you freakin' kidding me?
Where I got my start, all we HAD was one WROD - when we were lucky.
It is a joy and a privilege to be on snow whenever and wherever one can.

Loveland fired up the guns last night and announced the start of snowmaking ops. Game on.

Assuming the temps stay on the cold side for Loveland, how much base is needed to open?

They generally go on 18" of manmade, which I think is typical for CO.

Loveland has a lot of terrain to cover to get Mambo/Home Run open. This is why Loveland's early season product is so good, but it's also why they need more time. It's supposed to be relatively cold all week, so it looks like Loveland is betting on getting ahead with some early production.

We could be skiing lift served in 3 weeks. :wag:

I have so much to do before ski season starts. Some of these things are at least two (soon to be 3) years past due.

My tune shop is but they are opening this Saturday so I can drop off my skis to repair the Chile damage.
