They should pull your pass just for showing up with this ski. The Fire Arrow, No. 1 for Stability at Speed, just begins to come to life and perform as intended when your eyes start watering into your ears. Quick, knifey, scary-strong on edge, it was also dead last for Forgiveness. Not that it cares. More than one tester admitted throwing it sideways (no easy feat) before finding its speed limit. With its ultra-edgy carbon-fiber reinforcement and full-camber responsiveness, it's a speed technician's dream. Gleason: "Carve till the mountain bleeds."

The feature-rich Fire Arrow 84 EDT is the most expensive model Nordica makes ($1,299 in many shops). And it's the most precise and powerful carver in the recreational line, though its 84 mm waist gives it versatility in soft snow, too. Its signature technology is Nordica's EDT, a carbon-fiber plate-like structure fixed to the top of the ski extending fore and aft of the binding. Without adding much weight, EDT is designed to reinforce the ski's torsional rigidity (ie. twist resistance), for enhanced full-length edge engagement, without making the Fire Arrow too stiff longitudinally to bend into its sidecut. The 84 EDT is also the only Fire Arrow with metal laminates for high-speed stability and calm. Nordica builds its three-model Progressive Front collection (Fire Arrow 84 EDT, Fire Arrow 84 Pro, and Cinnamon Girl) for speed-loving piste technicians in search of maximum precision and edgy power. All are full-sidewall laminate constructions with carve-ready sidecuts, grippy traditional camber, and groomer-optimized waist widths (80 and 84 mm for the men's models; 72 mm on the women's Cinnamon Girl). Nordica's Rapid Race tip borrows from its World Cup skis, with a sharp, extended sidecut in the tip for instantaneous hookup. That's tempered by a touch of tip-rocker for line-adjusting drift when you want it (racers call it "stivot"). All models have full wood cores and fast, high-density bases.

Trouble is, no response to repeated PMs and no other means of communication.

Thanks. Too bad he didn't trouble to post that message on PugSki, which he apparently joined to sell the skis.

I travel a lot.
Very nice and fun ski. I had the 2013's in 172 I think. Speed limit was around 65 mph. Held on ice like a race ski, quick underfoot and never gave up. Pretty good in crudy snow too.
