We have a break through of sorts.

Finally took her to a local shop to see skis, rather than surfing specs and pictures online. The shop is having a big sale and was a "feeding frenzy". The sales personnel never made it to us for a chat. But, by the time anyone had gotten to us, I had walked her through what was available and the different traits of the different skis. I think she got overloaded by specs and all.

Short of it was we got the Absoluts. Now, hopefully she'll love them. Her words, "I hope I can find the skis in the snow.'

Now if we could reverse the ratio of shopping/online time to actual on snow time.

First day on the snow report...

We're stuck in the greens today due to wind holds for the top of the mountain...

So far,
1. She skiing faster and more steady,
2. She's asking for my suggestion for drills (this has *never* happened before),
3. She's not yelling about returning,
4 She asking to take the skis in a day trip with other people (another first).

Officially the jury is out until we get on the blues, but there's hope....

Looking forward to tomorrow. Supposed to be colder, but much less wind.

Late to this thread and since she has the Absolut Joys, well, enjoy them. :)

You mentioned she is an engineer. I was going to suggest look at these in person then. The top sheets are not just white. 3D honeycomb looking, kinda neat.

What length did you purchase?

We did go look at them in person. Same comment about white. We got the 148cm.
