Drinking an everyday Pinot Grigio and eating a stuffed artichoke, a great combination.

Sounds good, I hope it is a red Zin and not a white Zin.

So, I finished a wine bottle yesterday and I'm going on a business trip tomorrow. I am not opening anything tonight. But a little bourbon love will keep me goin' while the ice-cream is churnin' and the the chuck grindin'

For some reason I wasn't as impressed as I have been in the past. The acidity did go well with the pasta sauce, though.

Really good dolcetto is not that common. Too often it's either lean and old school (in a bad way) or it's fluff. But a really good one is worth searching out. I've posted this before, but tonight confirms what a yummy wine this Boglietti is - especially in contrast with the dull, overripe Yecla swill I made the mistake of opening last night.

And it's probably peaking at 4 years of age? Lovely. I opened an Italian wine in your honor (besides, I'm making pizza :D)

My daughter just returned from Italy and she gave me this bottle.

It was very good.

Have you tried Amarone yet?
Yes and it is one of my special occasion wines because some of the Amarone are a little pricier than I like. Also my brother in law has made some Amarone and shared a few bottles, he also makes a good Brunello another one of my special occasion wines.

I haven't had the Zenato, or I don't remember. I like their wines, generally.

Back in the day Quintarelli was the man. Kids have long since taken up the baton, and the wines are stupid expensive, last time I looked. I actually liked the straight Valpolicella best. Memory to treasure.
