I never remove my pole straps from my wrists at the bull wheel. I only let go of the outside pole and hold both in my inside hand up against my body to give the appearance that I took them off. 40 years and still haven't wrecked a pole at the loading ramp.. knock knock hahaha.. One time a patrol noticed and gave me a firm talking to on the ride up..

Anyone tried Swedish salted licorice? Separates the Swedish Swedes from the rest. If you tried to make a candy out of actual fish, that would be it.

After inhaling a box in 2 days.....I guess my new guilty pleasure is Lucky Charms cereal.
:daffy:

I've always had a weakness for Lucky Charms. In Jr. high through college I would eat 2 to 3 bowls every night before bed.

Ginger.

Trader Joe’s uncrystalized ginger. I swear, I could eat a whole bag like that.

Some new toys for the wood shop, aka JeffB’s pout house, attached to Mrs. JeffB’s real house, in which I understand I am also welcome, subject to ongoing review. Move in date is 3 weeks out. The only reason for guilt is that I just usurped my entire Christmas list. And also, they happened to all show up on her birthday (she’s 29, yet again). And there might be one or two (three?) more showing up tomorrow.

On a partially related note, if anyone has some advice about how to move a 1920s cast iron South Bend lathe with an 8 foot bed about 600 miles, I’d love to hear from you. It originally lived in the Norfolk Navy yard, and now lives in the back of my grandfsther’s garage. It’s destined for my pout house, if I can figure out how to move it - I suspect it’s rather heavy.

I have a Delta joiner for planing boots and a Bosch router for doing the toe/heel lugs. Are you starting a boot lab?

I’m unqualified to start anything ski gear related. I can start a fire. Or perhaps a riot, depending on brown liquor consumption.

The Bosch router is for a new router table. The jointer and planer are for a whole mess of reclaimed heart pine barn wood I’ve managed to get my hands on, and to replace some older pieces of dubious quality.

On the upside, the barnwood is getting installed in the pub, conveniently (and dangerously) located adjacent to the wood shop.

Chocolate.

And the really guilty one: sugar free Red Bull. You might not think it shameful, but it is unseemly in a woman of a certain age.

Well, it’s finally loaded onto a truck after a 6 hour wrangling. Journey begins tomorrow. Based on the serial # I found during the very difficult move, manufacture date is mid-summer, 1918.

In my previous life we had a machine shop set up to machine difficult to find parts for heavy equipment. When my dad makes cannons, he bores the holes with a lathe like that and presses a steel sleeve into the cannon for accuracy.
*Don't judge the rust in the barrel. I really need to clean it.
