Not sure what it says but it speaks for itself.

That is something you learn early on NOT to do. Because when you are in the Funi or on the Tram at Squaw you could be on there with an Olympic medal winner or a Ski-Pornstar. I believe there is a policy at the Wildflower...

Gold Medalist: Free Cookies for life
Silver Medalist: Free Cookies for a year
Bronze Medalist: Better luck next time

Squaw is tough. ;)

There was another really funny one going around a while back with the same photo. Said something like " I don't always scare the living shit out of myself skiing.. But when I do it's usually at squaw valley"

I can remember when I first moved out to heavenly in 02-03 from my mound in Pennsylvania and kind of thought I was hot shit. Not even close!!! One of the kids from my crew at 7springs had moved out to squaw a few years earlier and was living in a flop house with a bunch of "aspiring pros". First time I hit squaw with them was probably the most humbled I've ever been in my life. This was right around the time first edition of squallywood came out and every one of them was trying to check off all the lines in the book. Then if you were lucky you got to see a powder day where the real pros like mcconkey, CR Johnson, Ingrid backstrom, came out and bombed the fingers and absolutely crushed the the lines no one else could. It was kind of like seeing Tiger woods hit a driver in person. You don't really understand how good the pros are and how far the gap is until you see it live time!

It's not even always the "pros" either

Your local shrink.. Dr Gaffney (no explanation necessary)
The dude from the real estate adds.. Jamie Blair...absolutely slays it
That cute girl in the coffee line in front of you..Jackie Passo...currently killing it on the FWT
The dude serving you in bistro22... Josh A.. Most likely the person that put those lone tracks down on eagles nest that everyone is gawking over
Shit even the academy kid you ride the lift with could be a future Olympian

It's all what makes squaw, well, SQUAW

That is how I feel when I ski with some of the PUGSKI crew. I have had two or three meet-ups and each time they blow my doors off with their skiing. Maybe it just has to do with age but I am very impressed with the skills of the people here. I ski; stop look around catch my breath, ski a little more enjoy being in the mountains with crisp fresh air, ski some more give my legs a rest and so on till I get to the bottom. I know the young guys want to get as many runs as they can because days off from work are always at a premium and there was I time I would do the same so I get it. Maybe we could have a retired peoples day as a meet up?

Today , I took the G3 Reverend fitted with dynafit AT bindings out for some "resort" lift serve, skiing with my wife.
Out of habit, I threw one of the skis down in the snow to "step in". Though I had fitted security cords to attach to my boots, The "getting in" aspect caught me a bit. The thrown down ski slithered away like a scared snake. Fortunately not over the edge and into the "abyss".

Preparation and practice fully exercised!

That made me smile.......
