With the passing of my mother, my sister and I have been pouring through, sorting, discarding, and just looking at photos and other memorabilia. A couple photos and some cool items. If your parents are still around make sure you find out about these things before it's too late. I knew parts of the stories but not all.
The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch
I knew Mom went but never saw the ticket before. She was in the Marine Corps and the Corps had to move snow from the cold weather training area by Bishop to Squaw because it was a low tide year. Apparently they did get snow just in time. I don't believe she was involved in the moving of snow.

This photo was attached to the ticket though I don't know who they are.
My mother is on the right. The hats say "Harold's Club For Fun" on the brim and the Olympic logo is on the front.
My grandmother's trip diary from her 1926 trip to Europe
Her handwriting was amazing. Hard to read but beautiful.
