The Rossignol Strato 102 gave Rossi the big name but the ST Comp sure paid the bills. It out sold all other models hands down.

205s Olympique 41 and the commemorative single ski. A ski shop had the single and had no idea where it came from. He gave it to me but no Bandits yet.

Seth Masia has an article on Rossignol https://www.skiinghistory.org/history/100-years-rossignol . The Olympique was made from 1941 to 1965 when they introduced the Strato with fibreglass based on the Olympique sidecut dimensions. Lange M2S on the Strato with what I thought were integral brakes at first but actually are generic that consist of a thin metal sheet that are attached under the two forward heel screws named Skibrake Synchron 1.

The Olympiques came with the Komperdells with those immaculately stitched grips.

Joal, did you actually ski those Stratos? They were da bomb when I first started skiing, actually peaked before I first stated skiing. The STs and ROCs were peaking mid/late 70s when I started getting to lift served places.

The toe has been drilled once before and the heel has 3 sets of 4 previous drills and maybe 2 mistake holes. Looks like Salomon though, took some rough measurements. To get the toe off just dial back tension and spread the wings to reveal 2 of the screws.

No, and at the moment it would be a fair way down the list of skis to ski.

Years ago a friend gave me a pair of those Orange Rossi Stratoflex and I skied them for a season. They were a few years old but still a fine ski, smooth with a strong edge. They had a S-444 rental binding on them that made them a little heavy but not an issue with the ski just the binding. It was one of those skis that surprised me how well it performed.

Gerald Ford's skis - took this pic back when I was in high school. Photo was taken at the old location of the Colorado Ski Museum which was roughly located across the street from the present day Vail Fire Department (if I am remembering correctly).
