Rose is looking nice as well. Some snow at the base, and definitely snow up top. I wonder if they'll opne some terrain tomorrow for a snowy Halloween :wag:

Snowing in Reno? Hot Damn! You guys are like 4500' and in the snow shadow, right?

That was 100% brown grass less than 24hrs ago . . .

Looks like the west side is getting it. Base of Rose is no longer complete brown, but no where the white in skibob's Boreal pic. :yahoo:

@Tricia and @Jed Peters are right. But if you come to N* definitely give us a heads up. I'll see if I can scrounge up a Pliny if its January :).
Trip will be at beginning of February, around the same time as Younger release has been in previous years. Doubt you would find a keg of it in Tahoe area. Bottle of Elder would be good though, which is what you had in mind.

Coming with a ski club and they will have a shuttle for the side trip to N or K, so not concerned with the drive although I would prefer more time on the hill which would be possible on Kirkwood trip.

You ain't driving? Go to Northstar! See the lake for the drive! Also, northstar is kind of a fun place for a guy like you to come...a LOT more for you to ski there than Kirkwood...

Charlie, just hang out here and I'm sure you'll catch turns with many of us.

@Philpug and @Tricia work in the village, /!: I think there are a couple other who are on here that work up there!

So, the question is, will there be enough snow at squaw to run a lift on November 11th?

How about Rose? Pinging @ScotsSkier ! Btw, my sources inform me that the person I see cutting through crud in Kit Carson Bowl, in beautiful GS turns, while the rest of us patiently work our way down ... is very likely to be you!

Surprisingly, Northstar looks like they are getting ready to start making snow (you can see the snow gun connected but not operating in lower right). Almost 3 weeks to opening day. Maybe that means they intend to open with a lot of terrain?

Bob: We were told that we'd have AT A MINIMUM one run open and a park open for the Northstar Foundation kids in the new Race Arena. I can't imagine if they're planning to get a run for the race kids and the park open that they wouldn't add at least one intermediate run for the general public?

No updates at the moment I'm afraid but we have a Coaches training day scheduled for Saturday, waiting to see if we will be able to have an on-snow session.

:) If the person you saw was wearing a USST jacket, then probably guilty as charged!

That sounds good to me. Given that that is East Ridge, I would guess Luggi's. I much prefer Ax Handle (or better yet, Springboard, but yeah, black).

New Race Arena? Not Hornet's Nest?

Go directly to 1:55.

They have planned Vista (pinball for the park) and Loggers (or Drop off) down to the bottom. Something over there for the race team.
