I am in the process of restoring my first real road bike made out of Reynolds 853 in the mid 90s. To that end, I'd like to put some period appropriate components on it, such as the mostly silver colored Record or Chorus stuff made before 2000. If available, 9 speed would be perfect. Going for the classic steel look and feel - no carbon anything.

So, if any of you have high quality used parts sitting in a bin somewhere that you don't need or want, I'd be happy to trade cash for the goodies.

Thanks,

That is the online presence of Bath cycle in Woolwich Maine. They have lots of vintage and late model bike stuff

There is a lot of this 'newer' stuff on ebay.

My Campy timeline runs from early 60's through to the late 90's where I make an abrupt stop!

I have a 1986 Campy C-Record Groupo (English Threaded) / C-Record Cobalto (jewel) brakeset, and two front deraliers, both the braze on and clamp on options. The groupo is attached to a Serotta Club Classic Columbus SLX Frameset 52cm with less than 200 miles of use. I also have the Campagnolo C-Record Biodinamica 500 aero water bottle and cage.
I can't use the bike and would entertain a reasonable offer.

I always liked the looks of the Delta brakes though I guess that the stopping power on them is pretty sorry.

Yeah they were also arguably dangerous. The brake leverage was non-linear..and actually decreased if adjusted improperly. Looked cool..bit of a pain to set up..but mostly poor modulation and yeah, poor stopping power.

There were at least 3 generations of the Delta brakes, plus their was a CdA and Record versions too. The later Record Deltas' worked better as the number of pivots and thus leverage was increased. Set up today with modern pad materials, they are fine. I have the CdA
(Croce d'Aune) version on my '89 Merckx Corsa Extra and they work OK, not exceptional.
I like the Monoplaner better, as seen on my Chesini above.

Thanks for the responses. I found a possible local source that I'm going to check out today. Apparently has boxes full of mid 1990s record, which is what I want.

If that doesn't pan out, I'll reach out to you @neonorchid. The mid 80s stuff is a little older than I wanted but could fill the bill.

Yeah I used to have some of that stuff lying around..I gave it all away.. Had a sloping top-tube Pinarello TT bike..illegal now because it had a 26" front wheel..gave it away..had Record on it.. It's funny how some stuff retains value. 20 years ago you couldn't give away a road bike..now people want $400 for a POS Huffy because it's vintage!

I have a Victory rear derailleur, but haven't found it yet.

I doubt it. Pretty sure they only used Columbus.

Frame is a Lemond Zurich. Pictured here after sand blasting and powder coating in pearl white. I probably have 20k+ miles on the frame and it was showing some rough signs of age. Decided to build it up incognito. Only thing I saved was the headtube badge. No decals are going back on the bike.

I thought the fork would be a nice addition. The original carbon fork is long gone.
