Chili on a cold winter day. Leftover Thanksgiving turkey sammiches at the ski hill Thanksgiving Saturday. Grilled steak, potatoes, and corn any evening for dinner.

My comfort food depended on the season and the mood.
Mashed potatoes and gravy is at the top of my list of comfort foods, but I don't make it often because I'd be as wide as a picnic table.
In the summer, we'd have strawberry shortcake for a meal when strawberries were fresh. My mom made home made biscuits and real whipped cream for this occasions.

In the fall, its chili and cornbread.

In the winter when schedules are tight and I need something easy and comforting - Grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Cottage pie.

My recent experiment in France with copious red wine in the gravy and a camembert tartiflette style crust only enhanced it.

Lots pf choices, but nothing beats a perfectly grilled med-rare bacon cheeseburger with crumbled blue cheese.

Breakfast = Pancakes & Beacon or Since I am a Jersey guy, Pork Roll(Taylor Ham), Egg, and Cheese on a Hard Roll
Lunch = PB&J or PB&Honey
Dinner = Italian Sausage with Angle Hair Pasta or Beacon Cheese Burger

mujadara, a Lebanese staple I grew up eating. Stewed brown lentils and bulgur with caramelized onions.
