Rusutso Ski Area/Amusement Park - Japan

While browsing the web I stumbled across this interesting area -

I think Rusutsu is one of the bigger areas on Hokkaido and the amusement park has been featured in snowboard video games.

The amusement park is not open in winter. Rusutsu is within easy daytrip distance of Niseko with similar snow. It's much smaller than Niseko but fall lines in the trees are generally longer than at other secondary areas I skied in Hokkaido. Rusutsu is definitely work checking out.

I ski Rusutsu most weeks during the season. It gets less snow than Niseko, and the terrain is smaller, but it's much better for a storm day as the lifts are in the treeline.

Used to be the patrol was very militantly opposed to guests,skiing off piste, so there was no reason not to continue on to Niseko. Glad things have changed.
