Should I encourage him to do Park or just have him carry my skis to the lift?

What kind of PID loops are you running on its balance axis?

I don't think you can do that with PID controls. You need the big hammer of H2 or H-inf methods. Maybe even a non-linear model-reference adaptive controller.

In any case, it is very impressive.

Ok, this is even more impressive, at least to me!

I haven't paid attention to robotics for about ten years, and it is scary how much progress has been made.
But forgetting that whole "making humanity obsolete" problem, it is very cool. I bet you could bolt on ordinary skis and add a little auxilliary programming and have that guy winning races in short order!

I gave a lesson to two women engineers. One worked for Lockheed on stuff she described as "West World" like on robotic assistants.
One of them came up with a phrase of "managing" for I forget what but we used it for everything. So they were "managing" their line, the terrain, the surrounding moving people etc. They really liked it.

I like the part where he pushed the robot over and it didn't complain. Usually my students complain when I push them over.

After the CS III module you'll learn to push them over without being known as the cause.
