Dinner tonight consists of cereal. Actually some sort of grain. Actually some sort of fermented gain in the form of whiskey.

I'm usually a Scotch drinker (Lagavulin tops the list), but was intrigued by this whisky at Trader Joe's. Bought a bottle to take to a friend up at Mammoth last weekend. Liked it so much I stopped by Joe's tonight to get a bottle of my own:

where is the unfriend button....:roflmao:

but since you like Lagavoulin, cant be all bad....

For those who want a reasonably priced Scotch blend, look for Famous Grouse. On of the top selling (and best quality) blends in Scotland.

So we started a $30 (or less) Bourbon Challenge at the ski house this season. Rules are simple 750 ml, 30 dollars or less.
We are into week five, need to cut back on the Saturday Night tasting, well more like flight(s) to provide attitude adjustment for Sunday Morning

Week
1. Bulleit Frontier Whisky
2. Old Grand Dad Bonded, 100 proof, WOW
3. Buffalo Trace
4. Redemption bourbon
5. Old Forester 86 Proof

So far Old Grand Dad is the favorite

Your Challenge ought to include Woodford Reserve, W L Weller Special Reserve, Eagle Rare, and a couple-three ryes like Crown Royal Northern Harvest rye (thank me later), Sazerac 6 year old, and maybe Rittenhouse.

But that Old Grand Dad BiB is a great bargain.

I am just sitting down to enjoy this. A fine blended irish whiskey. Proper finish to the week!
