How do I screw bindings on Stockli speedplates

I just got a beautiful pair of Stockli SL's with Salomon SP 12 ti bindings and the Stockli mounted speedplates.

The screws on the binding pieces (it's an adjustable system binding) line up with holes on the speedplates, but the screws don't go in easily.

Are they self-tapping screws?
Do I need to drill the holes out more?
I have a posi bit and it fits, but the screws go in a little way and then stop.

Any thoughts?

Got it. Whiteroom on epic helped me. Just needed a better fitting bit and used an impact screwdriver.
