Skied Stowe again on Sunday with @SKI-3PO and his son. We were trying to catch a better vantage point for watching some U10 races when my ski tip got stuck in a hole, I got vaulted over and landed on my right shoulder. Ski3po went down to get patrol who sledded me down the last 200 yards.

An ambulance ride to the Morrisville hospital confirmed a humerus fracture along with a dislocation. :( The dislocation is fixed... the fracture will take a while. I guess I'll get some practice at being a lefty for a bit.

And many thanks to @Josh Matta for doing some car shuffling and putting me up for a day or two... Haven't yet figured out how I'm getting home. Broken right arm and a manual transmission car don't go well together. :(

That just sucks.

I've driven a manual (just half an hour) before with my right hand unusabe. I don't exactly recommend it, but it's possible. How long is the drive back? Maybe you could Craig's list someone to drive your car back while you drive theirs? Then they just have to drive their own car back home.

It's 3,5 hours home from Stowe. :( Almost all of it is interstate, but I don't think it would be safe.

Craigslist is an idea... I have to see what my options are today.

I was hoping for a better result at the hospital than that. Get better soon!

Kevin! Say it ain't so, man! I totally get it. Yuck. Kudos to Scott and Josh, though. :) Call me if you want to hear how sucky the skiing is here.

Yeah, me too. :( Hopefully I didn't teach your son too much about cursing.

:roflmao:

Otherwise, so sorry to hear. What a bummer of an Eastern year all around for you.

I admit to jealousy of lefties. It just seemed they had it easier.

Heal up and find your way home.

This stinks.
Does this mean that we'll have to postpone the burning of your jacket for Mother's Day?
Added a new smilie for you

Yeah, I don't think Mother's Day is happening this year.

I like the new smilie! Nice!

Heal up Kevin.

Trying to find a positive: At least it is not a leg or knee injury that would require a brace or rehab to get back on skis.

I've always driven a manual and always changed gear with my left hand ;)

Heal up strong and take consolation from the fact that it will be completely resolved for summer and next season.

Dude! Sorry to hear this. Maybe when you're all healed up you'll appreciate your new lefty skillz:huh:

Here's to a quick and complete recuperation and a bunch of bluebird pow days in '16-'17.

Reverse Uber?
