Who are some famous celebrities who strapped on the boards? I remember some Wide World of Sports side by side slalom racing in the '70's that was truly crappy. Rather like watching Battle of the Network Stars...

These guys were fairly well known

Daniel Tosh gets his snowboard waxed at the shop where I work. I had no idea who he was, but all the young staffers were  That's Tosh.0!

I looked at him and said, "Should I know who you are?"

Doesn't David Coverdale live in Incline? And James Hetfield has recently moved to Vail.

Taught with Buddy Hackett's daughter at Copper one winter. He showed up a couple of times.

If anyone remembers who he is . A very funny man.

He talked about (NOT) taking ski lessons in an HBO special he did back in the late 80s or early 90s..

This was mid 70's at Copper Mt.

Skied a few runs with Robert Redford at what was then Park West, that was not interesting.

Gave a lesson to Babyface (the music producer) once. He was kitted out with literally the best of everything and skied at a strong intermediate level. I thought that was funny.

Got stiffed on a tip, too. :(

What wasn't interesting? Park West or Robert Redford? I could see it going either way....

So how well did he ski?

I liked Park West especially over on the old Condor lift side.

This was about a year after he bought Sundance in the early 70's. He showed up with a couple of his guys (they were good). Redford at the time was (being kind) an 'advanced' skier. Bumps, as I recall, were not his favorite.

Sony Bono

Natasha Richardson

Michael Kennedy

Michael Schumacher

Back in the day, Kim Novak was doing a ski instructor:
