I remember watching these wild beasts at Lime Rock. Went for the 962s, was blown away by the Audis.

Hey @Philpug, wasn't I saying the exact same thing that Hans does in this clip about passing inside or outside? That was totally awesome seeing Stuck and Haywood racing these beasts at the Del Mar Grand Prix IMSA race... As @epic said, I too came for the GTP cars but was totally blown away by the Quattros...

Schweet!

I always wanted an S4 Avant with that sweet little V8 and a 5MT. I know the 5-cylinder devotees are zealous in their love, but I love the sound of the little V8.

Shoot, I'd buy one today, esp since whatever engine the gub'mint fuel economy tests steered Audi towards would be much less likely to do a $5k grenade sometime soon after 70,000 miles!

I have a 4.5 year old Q5 which has been trouble free and one of my all time favorite cars particularly in the mountains. The engine is a supercharged 3.0 and is a blast for a vehicle like this. With the 2018 a major revision I went in for a test drive. But no more 3.0, the only option a 2.0 turbo. I pass. There's plenty of power but you could pour a lager while waiting for the turbo to kick in. Gonna pass. I'm instead going to do minor body repairs, replace mats and enjoy my current Q5

Quoting myself, because I just finished second, third, and infinity-guessing myself about ordering one of these, and.......

Today decided to extend the factory warranty on my 2013 XC60 R-Design for another 5 years and 60,000 miles.

Heck, it's just shy of four years old, and has less than 30,000 miles, and I love it AND IT'S PAID FOR!

Plus, the optimist in me is still hoping that the upcoming WRX is back on a hatchback chassis (my new warranty is pro-rated refundable if I jump ship early).

Me too! May be asking too much but I'd also like to see better fuel economy, maybe the help of a hybird electric motor to up those numbers.

Sadly, I think we'll have to wait for the 2020 redesign and who knows? Well we do know the alternatives:duck: (I've never thought and or heard anything bad said of WRX drivers, can't say the same of Audi drivers i've encountered on the road, apparently I'm not alone on that one),

I'm in the other camp, of really, really hoping the next WRX is not a hybrid, because that almost always compromises the utility of the cargo space (see current Rav4 as a prime example).

My young friend and bike racing team mate's wife is looking for a new car. She has a several year old Impreza, of which the only thing she likes is the stick shift. They were not even going to test drive the new Crosstrek because of its Impreza roots, but did so at my urging due to the completely new platform it just gained. His report was "you really, really want a WRX version of this car. We loved it, but you would despise the lack of power."

So bring on a WRX treatment of the new Crosstrek, Subaru!

They put a slot car motor in the REX, I'm gone forever... I'll pay for the gas, just give me useful fun to offset it :D
I'm waiting to see Subaru's response to the Focus RS. The current gen STI is getting mighty long in the tooth. It's gonna need a hatch body and no less than 375hp from 2 liters to compete with the truly amazing little Ford.
