length isn't the problem you have. the fatal flaw of these poles is that you can't Stick them into the snow so that they will stand by themselves. super annoying to have to bend down and pick up your poles all the time.
Sometimes I don't mind.

Keep looking for pictures of the old Scott steel poles from the 60's. They were chromed on the lower part and actual X caret gold plate on the top 1/2 with a bright finish. They were heavy, they were brittle, and they had a great warranty. They were pretty though.

Those would be the ones, thank you. Broke about 4 pairs of those bad boys. They were pretty though. $25 was about what they sold for too, all of the money for a 13 year old kid.

Scott was smart to give up on these and make their mark in the aluminum poles.

That was my first MTB!! There are a lot of replacement parts on that one. Mine had Deore components OEM. But t I do remember the crap grips scott put on those. I also had the shark fin anti chain-suck put on. Went through the first fork fast then put a straight tube fork on it and was fine. The next model up (mint green) had the Tange fat tube fork OEM.

Has anyone heard of a Scott pole being made in Italy?
PXL_20201215_224711571.jpg

Just below the grip you can see Italy. The Scott name is fading from the pole but it is clear on the top of the grip.
