I would LOVE to be there. I've never been to a tailgate party!...Will there be cornhole?!?

Does anyone have any tips on where I can get discount Northstar tickets? I'm also able to buy any unused "buddy passes" or the like. I just can't imagine spending the 120+ when I could use my MCP at Squaw/Alpine....Another idea would be to meet you guys at the tailgate after I ski at Squaw/Alpine....How late do these parties go?

This is very exciting.

@Jed Peters , I thought of you today as I was rag dolling down the Chutes at Rose. Seriously, "don't hit a tree"! I got very lucky, I think. Pretty scary stuff.

Here is the Avi debris Andy ended up in at the bottom of Wasp, he slid, rag dolled and tumbled pretty much the whole way, a good 100+ yards. It's always the 6th turn that gets ya.

I skied a few hours this morning at Squaw. (9:30 AM to 11:30 AM). It was really firm and anything off-piste was pretty much unskiable. I didn’t ski yesterday, but heard it described as “cream cheese powder with wet sloughs throughout.” That description seems accurate after seeing what the conditions were like today. Yesterday’s cream cheese and sloughs were frozen solid this morning.

Groomers were firm, but fun. Starting later would have been better. I ended up mostly staying on the groomers. I did hike the Palisades because Main and National looked so good… from the chair. Besides the patrolman’s boot marks in the snow, I was the first one up. The only chute open was National so I skied it. I probably should have done Kitchen Wall since it had been getting sun for a few hours. After skiing National I looked back up and couldn’t even see my tracks it was that firm.

I figured East Bowl might be good so I headed down to KT, but when I reached the top of the chair, access to that part of the mountain was closed.

Here’s a few random pictures from this morning:

You know it was good when take an assessment, give the ok, then wonder if you caused the avalanche.
Your first 5 turns were really good.
All it takes is one bauble and you're Raggedy Andy.
Way to ski it out and live to ski another day. Next year you'll be skiing that chute like a pro!

Thanks from me too Pro Leisure. Beautiful shots. Man does Squaw still have a lot of snow. If they stay open all summer that would be a heck of a thing!

Pictures don't do the steepness justice.

Yes. Most of them are simply terrifying, from the lift. Except the very first one as you come up. That one, I'm like "I could probably take it on a soft day". The rest, it doesn't cross my mind. But I think that's a good thing.

For the same reason, I tend to like (and appreciate when others take) pictures across the hill, with trees vertically lined up, because they give you a better feel for the place.

40-55 degrees according to Mt Rose site. Since I can see most of the bottom of your skis, I'd say that's a pretty steep part.

From The Chutes at Mt. Rose 4/19. Creamy for sure.

Awesome video. I think the steep parts are at the very top in the entry points, and this video was created past that?

Drifting a bit, but it was asked on another thread the other day, but I'm not sure there was a clear resolution. This video is hosted on facebook. That's pretty much the only way to post clips, right? Post on a video service (could be vimeo/youtube/etc) and then embed the remove media from here ... thanks!
